    first heard them in a snowboarding video... This was the exact song that i heard. in the past 6 years or so ive watched that video almost everymonth. Gus Engle's part has themin the video Patchwork patterns. i reccomend you look it up on youtube i know they have it.

    That depends. Some groups change their musical style to fit the "popular" music at that moment. Bands that are less known tend to play music for the love of the music. When they start getting popular, they start getting big heads with $ in their eyes (Fall Out Boy for instance). If the band can get popular, without changing who they are and what they play (The Avett Brothers for instance), then I don't care about anything else.
