bend those platters enough and they will shatter (glass). not one of IBM's brighter Ideas though,. lots of these drives failed, 15% failure rate is not acceptable. back then i had to switch and go to maxtor (ugh). now i stick with WDC, never done me wrong.

I've done same with a demaged 160GB HDD yesterday. This shit HDD was demaged, I opened it, found a little broken peace of shit under the arm, remove it, close the HDD, try to save it's important files and then I've destroyed it by screewdriver and dremel and knife and and and and and....who to fuck put broken shit in HDDs? :)
