Protests are getting stronger everyday, I have friends in Iran, they are for a actual revolution not just changing the president.

The Iranian protester simply wants the Ayatolla to answer to the government...at the moment the government is answering to him. This means that if the revolution would succeed, at least in theory the religious leader would have less power. So, in essence, as an atheist you should support the cause.

Because the US and Israel continuously threaten Iran, sanctions Iran (the whole time while being an arms, including nuclear, dealer to Iran) was the reason the people wanted protection. Of course they are tired of all this warmongering, and changing on their own. They do not need any involvement from the US, or anyone else.
