  • Amazing model. I am looking into turbine flight for the sound and the smoothness in flight.

  • @lordvader139. Hey mate. Sorry for the late reply. Yes indeed, they are truly awesome models the turbines! The sound and the smell just make for an exciting flying session. If you do get into the turbines please do let us know how you find it, it is very easy and in fact probably easier than any other form of RC as you let the turbine start itself, it just costs more! Sadly I no longer have this model or an turbine powered machines and so this video reminds me of the fun I did have with one. Ian

  • great flying Ian,

i hope i get mine setup like that, i like the fast roll rate..

    Matt

  • Hello Matey. Yeah yours will soon be there, rocking & rolling all over the sky. Surprisingly the model is still quite lively even with the longer blades, which is surprising. Ok it wont 3D like a Trex600N but it's certainly not shy either.

For all : Matt has some of his own models videos posted to I think, go check them out. Ian

  • There was a Sylphide90 converted to Turbine with a WREN MW54 fitted to it, which flew well from what I have heard. I am guessing you'd be more inclined to stay with JetCat as a power source rather than switching to a WREN unit. I know there is a Robbe Cuartro JetCat conversion to buy, along with Vario mechanics. • Hey Phil. Ah hopefully we'll meet again for a chat in person. The little Five Star was a great machine, by no means cheap and thats comparing it to the quite expensive JR machines you have now. The latter quality wise I would imagine is up there with TSK's mostly. It was a shame they didn't keep up with the times & have now dissappeared. A Turbine heli would be a good next step for you then mate, knowing your way around them in the planes will be good for a heli version......

  • Hey Ian, i can't exatly remember where i got your name from but do remember that you flew TSK's. I had a Five Star DL once which flew very well.

I now own a JR Sylphide50 and am getting Sylphide90 soon.

I have a turbine fixed wing model, a Boomerang XL with a P120 installed and i am looking at buying a Turbine heli too.

    Phil.

  • Hey Phil. Thank you for the compliment on the flying matey. Oh no I've been recognised ;-) LOL. Yes I did used to fly TSK's many, many years ago now. I had 2 Black Star Super Kaisers and a Five Star. Stunning helicopters & a make I had always apsired to fly. Of course being younger my Dad paid for them ;-) How do you know me, did we meet at a show or competition maybe? This is great, a real reminder of my roots with model helicopters. Chat soon buddy. Ian

  • Hi Ian, Nice flying there mate. Your name is familiar. Did you used to fly TSK helis in the UK a few years ago.

    Phil.

  • Hi Tim. Thank you for the compliment on the flying mate.

Yes, the model sounds fantastic when running and even more so as it zips past in fast forward flight. It's such a rewarding model to fly as well, with the extra weight & rotor diameter it tracks very well as if on rails. Looking forward to flying it again soon as haven't in 6 months or more. Ian
