Dictator.
Waiting to die, defiance
Hard in his eye.

Jostled by enemies, jeering
Ila Jahannam. To hell. Go.
Hell will open wide for you,
The hell you opened up on earth
When human life lost its worth for you.

What deaths, what tortured screams
Flash before you, waiting, in this dark,
Dingy chamber, with no fear or remorse,
This den full of delusion, derangement,
Noose hanging before you,
White scarf about your neck,
Blindfolded hands tightening
Your rope.

Your last words
Betrayed you:
There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.
There is no God... Your words
Abruptly choked, falling
Into emptiness: your loud, long-coated body
Crashing through the doors of hell.

And your words are dead:
Dictates. Commands. Death
And torture at your hands.
Death of death.

And what higher noose,
Nudged into place
By blindfolded
Hands, hangs before
Your blindfolded
Judges?

  • @BEHONESTNSAYTRUTH please change your username before you say saddam was a hero.

or go and learn something about him and what he did to MUSLIM kurds bevore you say he was MUSLIM hero.

  • Great poem! I could've never thought of that.

  • Plenty of American Poets to do that. When the world broken by him in so many places begins to heal and all his crimes documented, there will be time for poems and prosecution.

For the sobs that have shaken us with shame and mourning

    to drop their fruit.

  • sensible? like you comparing Bush to a Dictator?

  • give sensible arguments

  • before you type ignorant stuff you should run it through your brain first.

  • Dear minsatminsat: you make a good point but there is probably some irony in this poem, if you listen to the last lines carefully.
