Great song. The kalimba sounds great, good job. Try one, same design, but bigger, with the tines from the rake. You can make soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bassssssssssssssssssss kalimbas.

@zburnight if the wood is harder the vibrations produced by the metal aren't absorbed by it. that's a good thing if you want to make a electric kalimba with a piezo, or you can play it on a box or a table, the sound amplifies :D i wass planing to make it electric but i didn't had enough time to finish it, because i gave it as a gift to someone close to me :D. Of course i tuned it, with a chromatic tuner, in C major. I wanted it to be little and simple, for begginers.

That's such better sound than I'd expected from a solid piece of wood. Good work brotha! Do you plan on making more? And, did you actually tune it with a tuner or did you just adjust it by ear?
