TVA's Gil Francis stated, " The environmental worker must have seen FOG." Bob Alexander of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) was downwind of this dust storm and he did not see any dust. He stated that he would get a photo of the dust storm. Did he get any photos? TDEC's air results from 2-3-09 show a very low reading. This low reading is the result of only having one monitoring location that was upwind of the dust storm. Once upon a time CTEH offered to have parallel air monitoring with United Mountain Defense but has since backed down on their offer. TVA has confiscated our testing equipment and has refused to return it after many requests. TVA has interfered with independent testing since the start.
Local residents and elected officials want independent air monitoring.
People living up to 10 miles can not breath freely.
Matt Landon had just returned from an air monitoring training in Delaware with the Global Community Monitor and chose to capture this footage instead of running for cover to grab a respirator 1/4 a mile away. This news got international media coverage. How many people in East TN saw it? What a bunch of clowns at TVA. If they keep their eyes closed they won't see dust, therefore there is no dust. If respirators were filmed worn by TVA employees, TVA would be ruined, but those employees should be protecting themselves no matter what management says.
