This is the actual end of analog broadcast by Twin Cities Public Television on its St. Paul-based channel two. Bill Schrankler, the first person on the air in what was KTCA in September 1957, is the last person on the analog channel as TPT switches to digital broadcasts along with other stations in the country on June 12, 2009.

  • Wow, that's a really nice way for them to end it. Best once I've seen on here yet, today.

  • This is beautiful!!! Thanks for being there for this because I didn't know about it until I saw a clip on KARE 11.

  • digital sucks. i don't even get half the channels.

  • that show starting at 3:13, was icarly's movie (cancelled filming) sgt. pepper's lonley hearts club, released in 2000.

  • that was rude there was a black out n then he goes n cuts in dey show so rude

  • @ThrilloVanHouten Probably because of the television itself (shorter phosphor persistence).

  • I've never seen a shutter this bad...I wonder why it's so strong...

  • Shutters on home video cameras are the bane of our existence. It'd be nice if there was a way to shut them off, or at least synchronize the scan.

    Otherwise, nice clip.

  • I guess that quick blackout scared little kids.

  • I wish I could get the BBC and ITV to do the similar in the westcountry as we will be switching over in July.
