No tangles! The human brain's connections turn out to be a an orderly 3D grid structure with no diagonals. 2D sheets of parallel fibers cross at right angles -- " like the warp and weft of a fabric." The first pictures from the most powerful brain scanner of its kind reveal an "astonishingly simple architecture." This diffusion spectrum image of a whole human brain came from the new Connectom scanner, part of the NIH's Human Connectome Project. I read this article in a science magazine... this is not ALL the connections but a conglomerate compiled from high resolution functional MRI scans that linked together neurons with continuous-like connections. I'm wrong every time, but there is truth to my general statements... just don't get caughtup on the details.

I'm a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist currently working with a patient with Alchohol Induced Dementia and I would have appreciated this kind of mapping before and after 6 sessions. The patient's carers tell me that they are speaking with a sense of clarity, they have never experienced. By releasing constrictions in the dural membranes (among others throughout the body) there certainly seems to have been some 'rewiring'.

No, that's actually only the image of the left hemisphere. (The connections that appear to be on the right side come from the left, maybe they're the one that made the link between the two hemispheres.) Please, excuse my English, it's not my mother laguage :)

I'm looking for a video that can demonstrate the effects of electromagnetic waves on the brain. And another showing how scientists count partner waves and heavy metals to achieve their purposes

Beautifully made 3D model! It takes skill to show such complexity with the right amount of transparency, lighting and texturing.

Simply amazing what we can see with these new high-resolution scanning technologies. A bit surprised at the simplicity to it's structure.

Wow, we're really getting to know the basics of our brains. What will this mean to neuroscience?

Also that's the brain of a right handed since the left hemisphere is the one with more connections to the cortex. :D
