The bass player thought he was doing something hip.

aaaahhhh come on fellaz. just take a look a the bass player. he plays almost always muted fingerstyle during the solo. absolutely not agressively. and the mix is just right. i would usually expect less from a shitty club cellphone vid.

It wasn't tasteless. Hearing something taped live is a lot different from hearing it live. Most people for some reason can't decipher the difference. Sounds great.

"The problem with the bass player is he walks all over Randy Brecker's solo."
I didn't hear him walking at all. Ha ha ha (sorry couldn't help myself). I think the problem you're hearing is about the mix, the bass is a bit high. What he was actually playing didn't sound intrusive or tasteless to me.

Amen. I agree with you. I used to go to Mikell's and 7th Avenue South years ago too! Do you live in NY? I'm from there.
GOD BLESS YOU.

i've seen him live, and he is still the man, go hiram go!

The problem with the bass player is he walks all over Randy Brecker's solo. Someone should talk to him about stage etiquette.

Not that it matters, but what was his cause of death? He was very young to go out like that.

His gone to the Big Hall Of Fame!!!
Miss You!
R.I.P., Hiram. You will never be forgotten. Your musicianship and personality are part of the reason I used to tune into "Night Music" in the '90s.
