It is surprising WWI lasted as long as it did considering each American soldier was apparently capable of single handedly killing about 600 Germans. This movie is vomitous.

@Jawohl87 World War I was an insult and a crime to the Canadians, Germans and virtually any other poor sod forced to participate in it. It was a stupid war fought over nothing, and perpetuated for years because Europe's national leaders were too proud and too greedy to stop it. There was nothing noble about it.
These people died to enrich parasites. The resulting historical event was an obscenity to humanity. What a film maker does or doesn't do in trying to simulate it pales by comparison.
