  • What an unergonomic console!

The music desk too low for the eyes, the manuals too low for arms, the stop knobs invisible without bending your body in two.

  • @1401JSC I could not agree more. [1940's Moeller console] This instrument is a work in progress. The hobbyist organization that spearheaded its installation made MANY mistakes which we (the qualified builders) were not allowed to correct. They continue to retain the organ in their clutches but once they relinquish control the corrections and completions can re-commence.

  • Much too fast.

  • Fine choice of registration, nice performance, would have been more enjoyable at a slower pace. Many organists rush through this piece and miss the opportunity to relish the interplay - 'tis ashame.

  • @ecnice

    What an idea!

1/16 sized organs for 4 year olds

1/8 sized organs for 6 year olds etc

    ;p

  • @1401JSC If it is a high school instrument, it would make sense if the size is different than those made for adults. They had that when I learned the violin. Would they not do the same to organs?

"Much slower" is what MM for you? On what grounds are you basing "This is meant to "?

  • @Operaman41

    Maybe organists don't play at 1/2 = 69 because they can't or because they don't care !

    String orchestras are another question.

  • @posaune16

The score is marked 1/2 = 69; Dr Kraft is playing at 72. Andantino is not a slow indication. If this is a "prelude" it should be played at the same tempo that you would sing "Author of life divine, Who hast a table spread". I'm glad that she observes the commas in the text, unlike many of her co-posters.
