Howard Jones - New song 1983
I've been waiting for so long
To come here now and sing this song
Don't be fooled by what you see
Don't be fooled by what you hear
This is a song to all my friends
They take the challenge to their hearts
Challenging preconceived ideas
Saying goodbye to long standing fears
Don't crack up
Bend your brain
See both sides
Throw off your mental chains
(Instrumental)
Don't crack up
Bend your brain
See both sides
Throw off your mental chains
I don't wanna be hip and cool
I don't wanna play by the rules
Not under the thumb of the cynical few
Or laden down by the doom crew
Don't crack up
Bend your brain
See both sides
Throw off your mental chains
(Instrumental)
Don't crack up
Bend your brain
See both sides
Throw off your mental chains
You could only get away with this chain man in the 80's...meanwhile, I love Howard Jones.

I heard this great song when it came out in 1983. At the time I was laden down by threats from the doom crew. I often thought of the words, "Don't crack up, bend your brain, see both sides, throw off your mental chains" but couldn't figure it out. Then I read Truth-saves & Victor J Stenger's, 'God, the failed hypothesis' & Richard Dawkins & Valerie Tarico & now I think , "Great there is no supernatural realm to worry about". Pity that I didn't have the courage to trust my doubts back in 1983

I've watched a lot of older videos of Howard's performances from TV. However, the video quality of this one is amazingly crisp and clear.
