  • Loppstack has good potential but needs the ability to record freetime loops without the metronome. This is a must for experienced loopers: having the metronome sound at the start and in the output sounds naff and makes it unusable for professional applications. Can you include that mod in the next update? BP

  • @BrendanPowerMusic: The metronome is a necessity on Android because it's the only way to record without latency. I would have preferred a "Freetime" mode as you describe but it wasn't possible to account for touch latency on top of the audio latency. There's a reason you don't see too many of these apps on Android, I'm giving it my best shot because there IS a demand for it.

  • @LoopStackApp Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I've heard that making high-end music apps is a lot harder on Android than the iPhone/iPad. I got the same feedback from Roni Music who make the excellent Amazing Slow Downer: They have managed to make an iPhone app of it, but at present can't do it on Android because of intrinsic limitations in the Android OS. Are these endemic, or can Android developers overcome them? I think they need to if they want to compete!

  • @BrendanPowerMusic That depends how much Google cares about music apps. The latency issue has been around forever and it's what's stopping most iOS apps from coming over, above anything else. There's nothing developers can do about it other than add their voices to the 1500 people who have marked the issue as important to them, hoping Google addresses it. In the meantime, we can make music apps that don't rely on real-time input, like Loopstack with its metronome sync.

  • I think this one will work for me better than four tracks. (a little bit disappointed for 4tracks) I'm so buying this.

  • I also hope you keep developing your app and adding features like effects and more recording bars. A feature which allows overdubbing would be cool, too =D All in all your app is already a good solution for my looping problem =D

  • Hey guys, very cool app. I think I´ll get a lg optimus x2 now because of your app, before your app I was about to get a Ipod Touch 4g because of Loopy App. But now I think i can cat a device with more features for the same money and still enjoy mobile Beatbox looping. I really hope that Google will fix the metronome problem one day ;( ;( ;(

  • FINALY!

  • @LoopStackApp Well, I think Google should wake up and care more! I have an Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab) and would love to have the usability of some of the brilliant music apps that are coming out on iOS. With the iRig and similar I see more and more amateur and pro musicians opting to use these for effects and looping for live performance rather than hardware pedals etc in future. If I can't get them on Android I will switch to Apple, and I see lots of others like me making that choice

  • @wolteriswolter : What device do you have? Some phones have trouble calibrating, I'll be releasing an update to fix that soon.
