Before the road warrior before MAD MAX who drove the MPF INTERCEPTOR the YELLOW 1973 XB model 351 V8 sedan FORD Australia.
Well lets introduce you to the MOTHER the fastest REAL POLICE HIGHWAY PURSUIT INTERCEPTOR was the XA 3rd GENERATION falcon ceased production in the USA the XY shape was their LAST this is the FIRST ALL AUSTRALIAN model.THE V8 falcon XA INTERCEPTOR 1972 HIGHWAY PURSUIT 351 V8 4 SPEED MANUAL SEDAN the falcon GT HO PHASE 4 catcher this was purpose built Regular Production Order (RPO?) for VICTORIA POLICE to catch the fastest cars if needed. In APRIL 1972 coincidently in MAY 1972 3 brambles red falcon GTs were being transformed into HO PHASE 4.The POLICE INTERCEPTOR external appearance was an unpretentious unmarked white falcon 500 this was the 1972 falcon 500 5th GENERATION aust. • its a old falcon that doesnt turn corners, didnt stop, people have woken up about paying over $500k for a GT HO phase3 and saying to them selfs like i can buy 2 lambo's or a super car for the same money and thats the reason they (the XY GT HO) have dropped so much in value, im sure the house's near the city will follow suit due to the small land blocks,

  • @the124Lscania

Didnt turn? _uck you talking about this thing was a monster at the time! Thats why they banned the phase 4, who knows what ford australia really could have done if the phase 4 wasnt banned

  • So was this Police Chaser a Phase 4 or Just a XA GT with a Phase 4 Spec 351 V8 Motor with RPM Limiter off. It would be a rare car on its own for sure, how many were Built,or is it a One Off Beast

  • @666theninja The was only 1 plated GTHO PHASE 4,Most police interceptors WERE FALCON 500 with all GT DRiVE TRAIN This one was produced in APRIL 72 (same month when the 3 prototypes FORD RACING GTs were being converted to PHASE 4 )Generally there was only one tweaked POLICE demo made for selling purpose I was told. When Vic Police finished with them in NOV 1973! At the time 2 for sale at BS STILLWELL RiCHMOND there were 4 for sale at a DYNON RD PRiVATE dealer

  • shame its got 4 doors if it was a coupe you could say it was a true aussie muscle car.4 doors not muscle

  • @age304 the aussie muscle car era started with a FORD SEDAN based on the XR FALCON 500 V8 289 VICTORIAN POLICE INTERCEPTOR...it has 4 DOORS the true prototype GT BASE to the first aussie muscle car the1967 FALCON XR GT 4 DOOR SEDAN..the coupe came later 1968 monaro, valiant HARDTOP, PACER coupe 1970 charger and 1972 falcon later TORANA ...all the coupes came later

  • this is a nice car

  • only 4 were made all red 4 door.

Ford killed 2 on the test track.

VIC and NSW Police got one each. One was in Burwood NSW in 1997. Don't know about now. The VIC Police kill one in 1973. The one in Burwood has SFA value got painted black, new motor and trim in 1987. The owner got the car 1/2 striped for $300.00 (FAST FORD story 1997)

  • four phase fours were made. 3 race cars and one road car. the road car is green and is still running today, there are two race cars left and they are red. the third was smashed beyond repair. the road car is owned by a dentist in western sydney NSW

  • @the124Lscania look up yager performance xy around bathurst and tell me these things can't do corners

  • The GTHO Phase 4 was the worlds fastest 4 door car ever on the road in its time, thats why they made only 4 of them, on its heels was the Phase 3. Beautiful cars and good one Ford Australia to make them..

  • @grandchancelor Well i wouldnt say that as the XR6 turbos are keeping it Australian but giving the imports more then a run for their money. But also you have to keep in mind that down the strip a V8 and chew a 4 banger while eating turbo 6's by a couple of car lengths too. Im sorta gonna throw this back at you but not being an asshole or anything. If you tune a SC V8 right it will be the king of the strip ,with that awesome music to the ears they belt out lol

  • i used to have a hg wagon with three on the tree that done 70 miles ph in first and it only had a 186 in it when i was a apprentice i done a bit of headwork thats it. me mates used to call it the hiroshima screemer lol the cooling fan used to spin that fast it sounded like a turbo......beat that

  • @monaro69GTS KEY WORDS (at the time) so move with the times dude and get over it

  • @monaro69GTS knew one of the mechanics on the Phase 4 - it is real, there is only 1 left, Ford has made offers to buy it, but the owner will not sell. Wheels did an article on the car a few years back.
