My 24/7 Overclock Settings on Asus P5Q Deluxe mobo with Intel Q9650 for 4.2GHz. I made this quick vid for someone at OCN forums that asked me about my voltage settings.

After vdroop my actual CPU voltage is 1.328v.

  • I can run my q9650 (VID 1,2375) on this mobo at 4,4ghz stable 24/7, but no matter what i do I can't run it 3D stable at 4,5 and higher. Did u manage to run it stable - fsb 500?

  • Nope, never got 500FSB 24/7 stable.

  • Can you help me out bud please. I used your overclock settings and they didn't work, the computer wasn't stable and blue screened. I upped the CPU voltage to 1.3500 and the SB voltage to 1.20 and lowered the FSB and it seems stable in games etc however i cant run prime or OCCT because i get errors like Core #2 error or something. Help me out please mate

  • Well settings normally vary from hardware to hardware even if it's the same make and model. You'll have to play with the voltages and settings to find what works for you. Keep an eye on temps and start with small overclocks.

  • I guess these settings also apply to a Q9550 ?

  • Typical 24/7 setting starting point is 1.2875v Vcore, 1.2v NB Voltage. Reference fyi is 1.25v CPU and 1.1v NB.

  • the only settings that REALLY matter are manually setting your memory and it's voltage, manually setting your Vcore and manually setting your Northbridge voltage. The rest don't have to be set manually.

  • Thank you for this film, helped me :))

  • @TransAmPL

congratulations! you have a premium processor!!!! Hand picked!

  • My question is: If I overclock my CPU, do I have to increase the NB voltage (northbridge voltage) too???

PS: I have the same motherboard!

  • i have a q9650 with 6GB ocz sli ready ddr2 800mhz (pc2 6400), an asus p5q pro turbo, 2x radeon hd 5770s. how well do you think the settings you have shown will work?

  • i hope a 780i can get this chip to 4.2 right now im rock stable @ 470 FSB

  • yea i got the same cpu and ran many tests... max prime stable is 4.4ghz but heat might be a issiue... so 4.2ghz at 1.4 vcore is the best stable OC for this chip...
