This was the final race to the 2009 ALMS (American Le Mans Series) and the controversy was over the move that Joerg Bergmeister of Flying Lizard Motorsports pulled on Jan Maggussen of Corvette Racing. Give this video clip a watch and look at the battle in GT2 between Bergmeisters red and silver Porsche and Maggussens yellow and black Corvette.

  • They didn't show the whole part. The Corvette bumped with the Porsche many times during the race and was very aggressive. In the end, the Porsche said "I am done with this" and pushed him into the wall.

  • @psykloneja bumping someone is completely legal, its a part of racing. but spinning someone out on the last lap of a race so they cant win? you cant do that...

  • well the vette driver bumps so porshe loss control and takes advantage but porche wasnt happy so he took revange its not like they dosnt know what they doing porche simply stights back porche driver win end of the story

  • Von diesel lol lol good one

  • That's some dirty fucked up shit...

  • And you're saying trying to spin out the car in front on the last corner of the last lap is unsportsmanlike?

Vette was shown its place. Its naive to think that move was for any other purpose.

  • Let's just hope the corvette driver's son ain't Vin Diesel.

  • @laughsatposers rubbin' is racin. wrecking is not. it was all fine up until the porsche wrecked him for the win. hooking someone is just unsportsmanlike, and very dangerous.

  • @aadrew10 starting position/pitting young grasshopper. the fastest cars aren't always out front. rubbing is racing. however intentionally wrecking someone is dangerous, unsportsmanlike and completely uncalled for. it's racing. you're going to get bumped a little bit. the vette was obviously faster because he drove away for the couple of laps he was ahead. if you can't understand that, well you have a lot to learn about racing

  • @Creepyhermit1 if the vette was faster then why wasn't he already ahead?

  • @bj2905 I saw the the race a few laps before the final lap, there was bumping back and forth. The Porsche driver Crapmiester aka Jorg even drove Jan off of the track on the first turn of the final lap. I thought the race was done, but Jan and the corvette came charging back and then at the final turn Jorg took it slower than he usually did and jan bumped him, ok fine its a bump, but to fish tail the other cuz you are beat? Dirtiest ALMS finish ever, lost faith in ALMS after this finish.

  • @osirisvb Not trying to start an argument, presumably that link you posted was to highlight what happened just before the crash? If that is the case, then to say the Corvette never made contact with Porsche can't be accurate, at the entry to the final turn before the pit straight it seems to me quite clear that the Corvette tapped the back of the Porsche, infact I don't think that's questionable. It may have been unreasonable for the Porsche to react, but he didn't make the first contact.
