With the help of skyman2002, atholfam, and others on the NECR list, TNT Productions caught the first NECR loaded ethanol extra through Amherst, MA. I was out at the Amherst Amtrak station late at night and had to wait over an hour to catch this train, but it was worth it.

FEC SD40-2 #721, NYSW SD70M #4052, NECR SD40 #6281, & FEC SD40-2 #722 pull a spacer and 80 loaded ethanol cars.

I had my shutter speed on 1/30 for this shot. Enjoy!

  • Awesome vid!! Cool horn.

  • The #721's horn is very recognizable. No other horn currently on the NECR sounds like it.

  • @TNT314159 I've never heard any horn like it. Is it a Leslie?

  • Yep, a fouled RS3L. The #722's horn sounds much different even though its also a Leslie RS3L.

  • I gotta say, even though it's fouled, it sound really good.:)

  • Agreed

  • It sucks that it was 25 mph and no faster. Takes the fun out of it! H.P.W.
