I'm sorry that you fell for this nonsense. But, YouTube is NOT a good source of knowledge. The reason this is the first time you hear of elephants painting is because this is is a highly edited video that shows a very deceptive tourist trap in Thailand. The elephants are brutally trained to steer their trunks in the direction that the trainers tug the ears. If no trainer holds the elephants' ears, the best you'll get is random splotches of paint.

Seriously, don't believe everything you see.

Most abuse is done in secret and behind closed doors.

But there is a growing phenomenon in Thailand and other parts of the world where elephants are trained to paint using deliberate abuse and torture. Many people include celebrated international art galleries see this as a beautiful thing and even an aid to conservation. That it is not.

It disgusts me that these stupid fucking people force the elephants to do that. No animals should be used for entertainment. That whole time the elephant was painting, that arsehole of a man had a sharp stick behind its ear. I'd love to grab that stick and shove it right up his arse. See how he likes it.

I didnt said they aren't controlled.. I just said that they are one of the most instelligent species.. some are even more intelligent than some of humans.

The point here is that some humans are so cruel that they dont deserve to be among the rest of 90% of humans..

And your point is what? I agree that elephants are among the most intelligent animals. So what? So this means that these tourist trap hoaxes are justified? It's BECAUSE they are intelligent that they shouldn't be abused this way. And, you didn't exactly say, but if you think the elephants know what they're painting, and they're not merely controlled by the mahout, then yeah, you're definitely one of the people that aren't as intelligent as elephants.

See some of the paintings with written words.

Please just leave the poor elephants alone...they belong in the wild. Those of you idiots who think it's cool to watch elephants to do tricks, shame on you.. .It is not cool how they are being trained. Elephants are being abused because people buy tickets to see them do tricks... If you want to see animal, but a fucking ticket and fly to THEIR PLACE where they belong... Firing up when thinking about this.... Ugh.....
