I'm sorry that you fell for this nonsense. But, YouTube is NOT a good source of knowledge. The reason this is the first time you hear of elephants painting is because this is is a highly edited video that shows a very deceptive tourist trap in Thailand. The elephants are brutally trained to steer their trunks in the direction that the trainers tug the ears. If no trainer holds the elephants' ears, the best you'll get is random splotches of paint.

It's BECAUSE they are intelligent that they shouldn't be abused this way. And, you didn't exactly say, but if you think the elephants know what they're painting, and they're not merely controlled by the mahout, then yeah, you're definitely one of the people that aren't as intelligent as elephants.

Please just leave the poor elephants alone...they belong in the wild. Those of you idiots who think it's cool to watch elephants to do tricks, shame on you.. .It is not cool how they are being trained. Elephants are being abused because people buy tickets to see them do tricks... If you want to see animal, but a fucking ticket and fly to THEIR PLACE where they belong...
