ABC Movie Intro 1987

Here is the full version of the ABC Movie Intro theme. It was used from 1987-1990. In the 1988-89 season the theme music was changed and the intro was shortened to 10 seconds, there is a clip of that somewhere on youtube already so I wont post it.

I just added a ABC movie intro clip and combined it with different music. Was the music on mine from what year? it is slightly different. I think the video portion of this was from you.

thanks for adding that clip. it sounds like the ending of the abc movie presentation, but I might be wrong, maybe it is just an alternate version. The music on yours is from the 1987-88 season.

Actuually, the theme music changed in the late summer/early fall of 1988, and the second theme ran through the spring of 1990. The theme heard here was a variation of the 1987 Something's Happening campaign, and when new music was introduced for "SH '88", this piece had to go.

That's right. NBC ran the 1984 open into late 1987! I wish ABC kept the original 1987 music for this open all the way until 1990, as the music introduced in 1988 wasn't so good.

USA used to air marathons in the 90's. FOX used to show them on weekends back in the day.

I don't think they did, I think they were too graphic for network broadcast. They were all over HBO and channels like that though, obviously.

I remember this graphic and I remember not being as big a fan of it as I was the earlier ones. I still think that way. But nevertheless, thanks for the post cause it still brings back memories.

I do not think that I (and I am sure others don't either) give enough credit to the fact that CGI was so good, so long ago.

NBC even ran the 1984-86 movie opening after the logo was changed.
