Bankrupt California City has found money to Desecrate Native American Burial Grounds

It is common knowledge that Vallejo is the economically challenged City in California. They almost filed bankruptcy. They have lost policemen, firefighters and Department of Public Works employees either by lay-offs or departures; however they seem to have enough money to turn Native American burial grounds into a park.

Glen Cove, California has been used by Native Americans, and one Native American named Wounded Knee stated the use of that land by his ancestors dates back at least 3,500 years ago. Native Americans used the land to eat, mingle, socialize, rest and recreate. In the 1920's it was used by the rich as a playground.

His ancestors bones have already been taken by UC Berkeley and stuffed into shoe boxes and lockers, and he says there are many more graves and bones from his ancestors on that property.

So to stop the pending destruction of that land Native Americans, activists and supporters are now occupying Glen Cove to stop the Desecration of Native American Burial Grounds.

The City of Vallejo or the Greater Vallejo Recreation Department are planning to grade, build toilets, create a parking lot and install benches on Native American Burial Grounds. The GVRD claims they have money from grants to destroy those burial grounds. Local residents will get a park, whereas Native American's will lose their ancestors land in the name of development. I talked with many folks while there, and one thing I was told that seemed a bit disturbing was the fact that local residents are trying to poison the trees so they'll die and be cut down. Many trees have already been cut down, and some are hundreds of years old. Removing the mansion may also disturb graves.

So they will continue to occupy the land until the City of Vallejo and the Greater Vallejo Recreation Department back off on their plans to destroy it.

After visiting Glen Cove I concluded it is Heaven on Earth.

The only thing people on this video are trying to do is make their burial grounds protected. I know about the people on this video, they work, have lives, carry themselves like everyone else! Its Literally insane how much some money some of the tribes get .. specially seminole creeks among others . the royalties are amazing .. some don't ever have to work for the rest of there life because there getting paid by the state or country .. but i understand why Most tribes are protesting and trying to stop whats going on in some of these native cities and communities. Thanks for the informative video. Too many idiots running CA and they dont care. My Dad was Apache, Mescalero Tribe. I feel what you go thru. How about you offer the whites a deal? You get to build a public restroom over each and every one of our politicians in CA over their loved ones burial site.
