Professor Robin Osborne (University of Cambridge) delivered the inaugural Percy N. Ure Lecture, on 9 November, 2011: "P. N. Ure and the tyranny of the archaeologist". The lecture celebrated 100 years of classical studies at Reading (1911-2011). Percy N. Ure (1879-1950) was the first Professor of Classics at Reading and was appointed to a chair at University College Reading in 1911. Also in the video are Tony Downes (Acting Vice-Chancellor), Peter Kruschwitz (Head of Department), and Katherine Harloe (speaking for Andrew Wallace-Hadrill).
