Victim Asks Judge for Leniency

Scott Lane's compassion so impressed the judge, prosecutor and woman whose actions cost him his left leg that she won't be going to prison as a judge had planned. Lane rolled in in his wheelchair Monday and asked Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Ruehlman to not send Amber Schwartz to prison for vehicular assault. The judge agreed and sentenced her to probation and drug rehabilitation. "No matter what amount of (prison) time is imposed, it's not going to make my leg come back," Lane said.
