FeatherWings78 actually simply requested Moonlit Town, but I decided to expand this into two equivalent stages in both versions of Sonic Unleashed to show how they're different. Unlike with the day stages, whose emphasis is on fast platforming that the early stages don't provide good examples for, the night stages are slower-paced and introduce more concepts at the beginning of the game, making Windmill Isle Act 1 a good subject for both versions. As usual, when I say Wii version I really mean Wii/PS2 version; and when I say 360 version, I really mean 360/PS3 version.
This time, I chose not to go for an S-Rank in the 360 version. To get the extra points would've driven this video long past the 11-minute mark. I barely went under it as it is.
The Werehog's controls themselves are actually pretty similar between versions. The running is much the same, as is the ability to double jump. All of the moves in the Wii verison are present in the 360 version, but not vice versa. However, both are achieved through leveling up. In both versions, there's an Unleashed gauge that fills by defeating enemies and breaking things. Also, Sonic can grab onto glowing ledges and slide across them.
However, the stage design is where the two versions diverge. You can probably see here that the Wii stages, though much greater in quantity, are much smaller individually. The Wii version also puts a greater emphasis on platforming than the 360 version, which puts an emphasis on fighting. People have told me that the Wii stages feel more like Crash Bandicoot whereas the 360 version feels more like God of War. This is emphasized by how Sonic's jumps in the 360 version are much lower in height than the Wii version, the latter of which takes full advantage of this fact by giving Sonic a large number of tall ledges to get across.
Though in actuality, the 360 stages give you fighting first, platforming later. However, the platforming as a whole tends to be easier in the 360 version than the equivalent areas in the Wii version. (Compare Jungle Joyride Act 1 Night in the 360 version, for instance, with Deep Jungle or Heavenly Ruins in the WIi version. Those two stages are brutal.) You can see the platforming here in the sections after Sonic gets across the Seaside Parlor. It's a precarious set of leaps along an ocean cliffside.
Another difference is that enemies scale in difficulty in the 360 version whereas they stay the same strength in the Wii version. You'll find much the same enemies here: Nightmares, Deep Nightmares, Frights, Rexes, and the 360 version throws in a Titan at the end. The Wii version won't let Sonic the Werehog go too far ahead though, as that version contains palette swaps of most enemies representing a stronger version.
