RESCUE: JAWS OF LIFE FREE WOMAN TRAPPED IN OVER-TURNED VEHICLE ((HD))

Saturday night Vehicle Wreck sends Santa Clara County Firefighters code 3 with the "Jaws of Life" (Hurst Rescue Tool) to extricate a trapped woman from and overturned convertible. 8:54 PM a call came in from a cell phone caller that a vehicle had overturned at the freeway access to Magdalena Avenue to Los Altos California. The car was traveling south bound on Highway 280 and failed to negotiate the turn the vehicle left the road and careened into the wooded area missing a large tree by inches and hitting 4 or 5 small Oak trees the car rolled at lease once and landed on its roof in the on ramp to 280. The vehicle was demolished trapping the driver upside down as it leaked fuel. CHP was first on the scene and secured the vehicle and victim trapped in side. Fire and rescue arrives a short time afterwards and stabilized the vehicle and started the extrication on the victim inside.

I watched this happen at 2 am on highway 69 north of Nobel, Ontario

One female was trapped in passenger side of vehicle and i got to see EMS show up

Fuck, I'll tell ya, when the air burst from the brakes went, the side door of that truck opened and those men poured out like soldiers, and were cutting the car open in LITERALLY 3 minutes. They had both jaws out, all the hoses, blankets for the jaws to rest on, lights were set up, fire hose ready. i couldnt believe my eyes!

Did anyone notice that the officers managed to repeatedly impede the actions of the rescue team? Communicating the need for assistance, maintaining the traffic flow and allowing the rescue team to have room to operate are essential. Getting in the way was not beneficial to the injured party or those on scene to get her out of the car. They were largely curious spectators too close. Their place was not beside the rescue crew. It was to side and out of the way.
