I have to responses to your statement;

1- Crime rates have little correlation with gun laws.

2- The people in charge of the levers of gvmnt don't really care if you carry guns or not. They spend about 3/4 of a trillion dollars a year (of our money) on the military (and not all of it is spent on $900 hammers, or $4000 toilet seats.)

The people in charge have 10,000 nuclear bombs are their disposal. You really think they care about your gun?

Your observation of crime is missing one important aspect, Very few people practice OPEN CARRY so you will have crime, my statement is that When one is openly carrying criminals do think! There is a video of Hunter S. Thompson driniing liquor and shooting his guns. The first time I saw this I was shocked. Oh well Thompson is american and if I he wanted to get loaded and shoot his guns on his private property than to hell with the safety critics.
