Hey guys I like seeing the debate. Mikel has been a disappointment but lets not take away the fact he is a attacking mid turned defensive player. This clip just showed some of his Champions League play. He had 2 assist in the league. Anyhow check out my other 2 comps which are probably my better ones. I have started on a Drogba and Okocha comp that will be up soon.

. Even the great "Maka" lost his place to mikel on occasions when the team needed a better passer of the ball or quicker distribution. Every coach that has come to Chelsea has played him consistently in the very position he currently plays; as a "deep lying playmaker" or to borrow a terminology from American football a "Quaterback"!! A player that receives from his defenders and fellow midfielders and keeps the game flowing, nothing fancy :The metronome!!

his skills make our game slow down..hold tthe ball way too long. just spolied the counter attack. hes great tho. just need some balance in between.

And is taken out the game by a simple sidestep or a one two he's just a recycler ov the ball side ways passer he shows some class now and agen but sick ov hearing how he's attacking wen all I see is a sideways pass,ramierez is better going forwad and better tackler I'd rather lampard drop bk now he's older in the holding role and go forward wen we need a goal like gigs does for Manu and Keanu use to that would free up a place for a more creative player.

Mikel is lucky Easley is injured so much nowhere near as good ov a holding midfielder as most fans make u believe super maka,Parker and diarra he doesn't drop back a follow his man

If you watched the tottenham game when we won 2-1 to go one point behind manu you'd see how good this guy CAN be. Unfortunately along with his amazing composure and passing, he often makes some very stupid mistakes and play to relaxed sometimes, change this and i wont mind seeing him in the starting 11 every week.

Andre Villas Boas should give him some confident to go forward rather than defending all the time. Somemore it suit with Boas mentality of football which is attacking football.

@doodchel53 With Villas Boas now in charge, he spoke about giving the players the freedom, so who knows? May we see the days of Mikel actually attacking for us, because back then it looked like he definietly had quite a bit of pace and ball control, he just looks too confined at this time, hopefully he plays as an attacking mid next year. :)
