Now, there's an airport Porter Airlines chose for their landings and takeoffs over YYZ, although almost every other airline takes off and lands at YYZ.

I work a 10 minute walk from YTZ and it's not airplane noise I hear, even if I stand right down to Queens Quay. It's the Gardiner Expressway traffic, street cars rolling by and traffic in general. Know what is even noisier? The Davisville subway yard around Yonge and Davisville. I lived around there for a couple of years in an apartment overlooking the tracks. Love the neighbourhood, hate the screeching noise of trains parking at 1:30am. But should they shut it down? Obviously not.

@yomamasapeach ... yes the water MAY be as blue as the caribbean, but UNLIKE the caribbean it NEVER gets warmer than 45 degrees F, or about 10 Celsius, even IN JULY !! It's as cold as ice on a summer's day.

Worldwide aviation is only responsible for 2% of CO2 emissions. It's you guys and your suburban mansions and SUV's that are causing the problem. If you want to complain about engine noise on the Q400's how aboutactually listening to this video. The Q400 is one of the quietest aircraft out there. I've seen them in action before and it's as quiet as it gets.
