A process is a group of activities that takes an input, adds value through the use of resources, and provides an output to an internal or external customer(s).
Business processes are discrete steps in a business cycle or a collective set of activities that create the value chain of an organization. The value chain is associated with the requirements of the customer. A customer of a business process can be several different things depending on the process' position in the business cycle.
