Sounds like something you'd hear during a pitching replacement at the old ballgame, like the way they use the Final Jeopardy music during instant replays at NBA or NHL games.

Ah yes, back when girls wore skirts at the roller-rink... back when the chrome was thick and the women were feminine.

Unusual but excellent version of the Leroy Anderson orchestral staple.
Extra points for the Canadian Columbia 78 you used. Very good quality sound.

I grew up with Percy Faith's version from The Early Show & The Late Show. Our dog used to howl at the tv when the theme came on!

Slightly different version but just as melodious.

I love Ken Griffin! I stayed in an antique store for 2 hours just listening to this on the jukebox.

Hi,
The "Captain Kangaroo" theme was called 'Puffin' Billy", the name of a type of narrow-gauge train that among other places ran (or runs) through one of the states of Australia. (Is there a pattern here?)
"The Syncopated Clock" in the 50's and 60's was the theme for CBS' daily movie series "The Early Show" and "The Late Show".
As an organist myself, I appreciate this, but think Leroy Anderson, one of our national treasures, is meant to be played by a full orchestra.
