Classic GameR oom HD reviews F22 INTERCEPTOR for Sega Genesis. Released in 1991, 14 years before the actual F-22 Raptor entered United States military service, this game is a flight simulator where you pilot an F22 against various enemies in the Axis of Sega Genesis 1991 Bad Guys. This CGRHD review of F-22 Interceptor has gameplay footage from F22 Interceptor showing this early 90's style flight game in action. Take command of the F22 in a pilot cockpit view or 3rd person chase plane perspective. It was probably a pretty cool game at the time, but playing it in 2009 is slow, jerky, sluggish and downright unplayable. The 3D environment, polygon enemies and break away missile cameras fall flat on the 16-bit Mega Drive. This is a super affordable game cartidge to collect and play today and if you like flight sims you may enjoy this from a historical perspective, but lets all hope that the real Lockheed Martin F22 Raptor handles better than the F22 Interceptor in this Sega Genesis Megadrive game. Published by Electronic Arts. The real F22 has stealth capability and costs a lot of dough!

  • How the hell can you reference afterburner 2!? Chalk and cheese. This was aiming to be a sim and had a 3d world. Afterburner 2 is as arcadey as they come. This was impressive for the time and still perfectly playable. Afterburner 2 he says, damn fools crazy!

  • I had this and loved it

  • @Ticalmc2k2 I actually think that was the real problem. It was "too" innovative and complex for its time. The consoles of that era, as well as the technology in general were just not quite ready to for a game like this.

  • I used to love this game. It's actually really innovative and complex for its time.

  • It's one of the worst and most expensive planes out lol

  • this game has to be played with cockpit view. In fact I always loved the music

  • @Birchyboy3000 Mine did.

  • haha at the G. I joe reference... so true though.

  • @infinitygenealpa Plus these 3D graphics are pretty impressive for 1991 standards on a console system.
