I don't understand any of this. I was a security guard in 1999 & the training could be taken at the local community college for like $50, or for free at any security company that hires you. You watched videos for a few hours & filled out a mock incident report. They never kept you there for 8, 16 hours. They would lie & just use the hours you worked as "on the job" training & mark you down as completed training course. $2,800??? WTF? Most companies provide free training. Mind did.

I was a plain (no gun) security guard for years, for 3 or 4 different security companies. In 1999 the course was like $50, and the security company not only paid for it, but administered the training, which consisted for watching some videos, fillng out a mock incident report & the rest was "on the job". That being said, I don't know why anybody would want to be an armed guard. It pays like $.50 - $1.00 more per hour, with the added liability & danger of carrying (& maybe having to use) a gun

@rainrogers65 Although I understand where your sentiment for the Plantiff in the case stems from. I do not share your sympathy for him. He is only a victim, of his own lack of education and due diligence regarding contracts and agreements. The Defendant, and the company that he represents, take advantage of people on a regular basis. The Plantiff's girlfriend needs to upgrade her education also, so that she can better assist herself and her boyfriend.

Most people feel sympathy for the Plantiff in this issue. But I don't. He is a victim of his own lack of education, and refusal to engage in due diligence. The young man obviously NEEDS to go back to school, and get a higher level of education, so that he can make more prudent, long term decisions. The Defendant, and their company prey on the less educated, and their inclination to want access to an "easy hustle". The Plantiff should have read the contract MORE thoroughly.
