the fact that the U.S. never embraced suede says loads about the culture and the sheep like quality in which talent, and substance are never given the spot light, instead it's very un-natrual to look outside the plastic box were all handed, and told "like this".. perhaps soon the tide will change....then again

I have obsessively been watching suede videos since seeing them at 02. By this point i had pretty much stopped paying attention so had never realised how obviously drug-addled Brett became. I always thought he hid it quite well. Obviously he didn't. For a lesson in the dangers of drug misuse watch brett in his earlier interviews when he was articulate and beautiful, then watch him here. He is almost unrecognisable. Even though he has put it behind him, he still has the look of an ex-user.
