...the sound on the Genesis side by building a brand new sound circuit. While I have a GN Twin to apply the circuit to, it will work the same way on the Gen-X, since their Genesis hardware is identical. Plus, you can solder an extra controller port or two to use original Genesis controllers and wire up a controller adapter to use NES controllers on the Gen-X.

If you're a purist and can't solder, absolutely not. The NES side suffers from the typical Famiclone "backwards sound pitch" problem, which will make games sound weird, and it doesn't work with Castlevania III, Rad Racer II, After Burner and a few other games. The Genesis side plays well, but sounds like shit and suffers from lag between controller inputs on certain games. If you can solder and don't mind the difference, go for it. I mention the ability to solder because you CAN improve...

The Gen-X was released in late 2007.

Search eBay. There are a lot of FC3 Pluses there. If you need any information on the FC3 Plus, send me a PM, all right?

oh! thanks. One last question please. I have a NES clone console veeeery old with a cartridge of 56 games and i would like to know if it is possible to play my 56 games cartridge on the Gen-x

First, I'd need pictures or a video of your clone and its cartridge. Then I'll be able to tell you if it'll work on the Gen-X or if something needs to be done to get it working.

it is not a japanese nes cartridge so if that 56 game cartridge works on an european standar nes console i suppose it will work on the Gen-x, but i never tried to play that cartridge on an european or american standar nes. Do you know if nes clone games are compatible on standar NES consoles?

I don't have any US/European-style x-in-1 cartridges, just Japanese ones. The US/Europeans ones will work with nothing extra, but the Japanese ones need a pin converter.
