Fayetteville, NC as it looked on five trips to the area between 1986 and 1988, including eastern Cumberland County, Cape Fear High School, Stedman Junior High School and the Vander area.

  • dang i go their now, and NOTHING has change d:P

  • dude! i so remember when the mall had a movie theater!! haha shiiiiitttt son.. i feel old now.

  • I'd like to see an update.....2010

  • i go to CFHS class of 2013

  • Those Cape Fear HS buildings are largely unchanged, as well as the courtyards. The cement area at 0:46 is covered by a new wing for science classes added in 2003, perpendicular to the existing parallel hallways on that end of the building.

An additional wing was also added to the back of the building in the mid '90s that includes a band room, small auditorium, a few classrooms, and a smaller, secondary "practice" gym. The gym in the video still houses assemblies, pep rallies, and games.

  • The Marketplace is still downtown, and downtown restoration/revitalization has been a focus of the city developers. New apartment buildings opened recently.

Kinlaw's still operates. Ten years ago, Mr. Kinlaw opened a restaurant behind the grocery store, and is packed every day at lunch.

Cross Creek is still the only mall, though the movie theater inside closed about 10 years ago, and was expanded to include a food court/carousel in that space.

  • Actually most of this is all still there. The Prince Charles is a Radisson now.

That 76 sign is gone, but Vander is till much the same. The pile of old trucks, buses, and tires at 2:11 have been cleaned up - that land is now a walking track. The intersection at 2:15 now has a four-way red light because of car accidents.

Stedman Junior High is still in regular use, now as Stedman Elementary with grades 3-5. K-2 still at Stedman Elementary, now Stedman Primary.

  • @JeezaLou me too! grew up in wade and cedar creek and attended cape fear the same year

  • Good old fayetteville!!!!
