This is a training video that was made to give an overview of the Southern Hemisphere Auroral Radar Experiment (SHARE), which is part of the SuperDARN program. (Audio is in Afrikaans.) The radar is at Vesleskarvet, Antarktica (roughly 71deg40 South and 2deg50 west). I had the priviledge to man the radar for almost 15 months from before to after the winter of 1998 as part of the 37th South African National Antarctic Expidition.

The footprint of the radar can be seen at http://superdarn.jhuapl.edu/fov/south.html and more info on the radar is at http://alturl.com/c9wgf

Info on the SANAE base can be found at http://www.sanap.org.za/sanap_sanae/sanap_sanae.html
