Imagine if your rent went up by that amount . 342% what a striking comment ! It makes you realize how insane this project is !
Can that be true? Can it really happen? Can someone really say plus de carres, debrouillez-vous
What would that guy answer if someone would tell him plus de tourists, plus dargent pour votre arrondissement, debrouillez-vous!
Keep us posted with the latests developments yvadmil, you have my support!

Nous ne devons pas céder devant ces décisions arrogantes. Le pire est le changement de statu des artistes du carré du Tertre en statut de marchands ambulants ce que nous ne sommes pas.

I note in the faces of these artists a tough life filled with both struggle and passion. A constant battle against to break free of the forces that oppress them and a desire for an elusive happiness they may never find. They are a hurricane unto themselves.
As for the major who wants to implement the tax hike, he will no doubt go down in history as one of those banal and mediocre minds who never had either an appreciation for good art, nor a desire to positively contribute to the future.

Did they get rid of artists square yet? That's such a stupid idea!! I'm sorry but he can't be a very good mayor if he's trying to destroy such a cultural landmark like that. I'm hoping to eventually be able to visit there. Maybe even join in. Such a bad idea to get rid of it. Good luck!

@MrWaterColour No way anyone can abolish the artists sq.the mayor pushed through a rent increase for the artists working at the sq...and some have had trouble paying the increase, but the artist's square is the motor of the economy of the neighbourhood..take it away and the galleries ,the cafes the restaurants all go bust.Daniel Vaillant will not be re-elected,and he will be remembered as a fake socialist..full of hot air.

Davy, can you tell us the name and email address of the mayor and/or his office? if everybody who watches this sends the city officials a letter or email in support of the artists that can apply pressure more directly than if we only post here. i'm sure they have at least one email address that's public and can be published here.

@heirihunziker The name of the (socialist!)'Maire de18eme arrondissement de Paris' who masterminded the hike in charges for the artists is Daniel Vaillant.Any correspondence to him will fall on deaf ears. However those wishing to help us oppose any future increases can send messages of encouragement to Pierre Yves Bournazel who is the only politician to have so far campaigned whole-heartedly for the artists:pyb18@hotmail.fr

@yvadmil it took me a while to write a cohesive letter in French to Monsieur Bournazel at pyb18@hotmail.fr but it's the very least one can do and i'd love to encourage everyone on here to please do the same. Davy has spent countless hours recording, editing and uploading these videos and it takes only a handful minutes to write an email of support to the politicians in Paris. keep in mind that no more artists will in the end also mean no more of these wonderful videos. remember, give and take.

@heirihunziker Thank you for taking the time and trouble to support the artists.I would encourage potential supporters of our campaign to express themselves in the language of their choice. The place du tertre is essentially cosmopolitan, with artists from all the corners of the earth. The message is actually quite simple:
"Touche pas à nos Artistes!"
