Watch in HQ (480p). In this video, it finally shows our area of California get some active weather. This was our 1st winter-like weather we had so far into this autumn season of November 2011.
So in this video, it first shows the first cold front of this first Pacific storm system that came down from the Gulf of Alaska, ushering in breezy northerly winds and bringing our temps down quite a bit on Thursday, November 3, 2011. You can hear me explain a bit more of the weather as more incoming cloud cover quickly covered the skies. It was a fast transition, it went from clear, cloudless skies to rainy skies within a couple hours time!
Then coming later that same afternoon, light showers began falling over San Jose, CA. Heavier rain showers were imminent in the region by sunset. We also saw a beautiful rainbow due to the shining sun and falling rain as we were headed home, going eastward. There was much more rain in store for us for the next few days...
The next day, Friday, November 4, 2011, we got a bit of a break from the rains before another storm pounded us with more rainfall. This storm was relatively more wetter than the previous one on Thursday. There were a couple decent storm cells developing far south of us, possibly around Gilroy/Morgan Hill, CA and southward.
Then on the following day, Saturday, November 5, 2011, the 2nd storm reached our area. The previous storm was barely leaving our area and now another one was already arriving. By the afternoon hours, showers began falling over our area, along with some light southerly winds.
By nightfall, at around 8:20 p.m. or so, this 2nd storm's strong cold front brought the heaviest rainfall so far. There were even possible embedded thunderstorms within this band of heavy rainfall. I was driving around town, hopefully to capture one lightning strike but no luck. It was raining with large drops at times. Even some roadways were partially flooded. You can hear me talking to my cousin on the phone for a few seconds, ignore that haha.
After a wet evening that Saturday night, the following day of Sunday, November 6, 2011 showed signs that the storm was slowly moving away from our area. The storm was moving in a northwest to southeast manner. The center this low pressure storm system was just west of Monterey Bay so there's still a slight chance for thunderstorm development near the coastal areas around the Monterey Bay due to the atmospheric instability from the system. But even up here in San Jose, CA, we managed to get some left over moisture, creating cloud cover over our area, even forming possible cumulonimbus clouds with the help of daytime heating.
We were headed to Stockton, CA to visit my grandpa this day as well. The skies cleared dramatically while headed towards Stockton. By nightfall, the skies were crystal clear with the moon and Jupiter above Stockton. However, while we were headed back to San Jose from Stockton, we experienced unexpected rainy conditions around Tracy, CA and while on Altamont Pass, CA while on I-205. We thought that all the rains had left the area! Pretty unusual indeed!
What an interesting early November we had, weather-wise. It was finally beginning to feel like how it should be at this time of year!
Wow, very beautiful rainbow footage there along with the gorgeous brief sunset! Nice photos spread out throughout the video as well. Did you see/hear thunder or lightning throughout that evening of November 5th? Looks like it was raining pretty good there.
Another terrific weather video man!

@wgjpinoy654 Thanks! Awww nope, haven't seen one lightning flash throughout that time period. It's still better to have a SLIGHT chance for tstorms than none at all, right? :D

Pretty neat video! It was good to finally see rain. It was pretty unusual, still pretty mild weather last month of October. It's also good to feel the cooler temps :) Looks pretty decent rain falling down on that night!

@Nazarenefellowship54 Yea I was super happy that we were in store for rain this time. It's refreshing as well after so many days of dry/warm weather.
