how do you fill in the layer mask with black? i am trying to figure it out. you say "now we are going to fill that in with black"....but how?? been trying to figure it out on my own but i just can't.

Sorry about that - just use the bucket tool and make sure that black is the top color in the color chips.

another great vid for us. Please do some more. I actualy have photoshop but love the gimp and only watch gimp tutorials but I guess once I am realy savvy , then I will find my way around both. Lucky me.
