On August 12, 2007, one of our Southwest Airlines Employees, Charles Kitowski, was fatally injured by a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan. In this video, some of Charles' many friends at Southwest share their memories of him.
I met Charles in 1997 at University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. He was a person you couldn't describe in words, you just had to know the guy. He was always involved in lending a helping hand. He always smiled and was always willing to go out of his way to make sure you're taken cared of. I never saw the guy frown or upset.
He's a great loss to his family, his friends, and the country he swore to protect.
(I did not know that there was a video about Charles, until today.)
I did not personally know Charles, but my son served with him in Afghanistan.
I honor Charles this weekend, for his service to his country and community.
His life continues to bring positive change to this world.
Thank you Charles.

Thank you to all the Southwest Airlines employees who contributed to and compiled this fitting video tribute to a great man.
Berri, I hadn't really met you yet, but I pray for you and your son.
Charles, you may be gone, but surely never forgotten. Thank you for being part of our lives, if only for a brief time.
Rest in Peace Always.
