Message for Camrennie: I understand where you are coming from, Some teachers say not to lean back as you go forward, but my other instructor from England suggests you do. Its probably an exercise to get you on the right track, because i have never seen a cometitive couple lean back as they go forward. lol :) have you had multiple instructors? if you haven't you dont realize the frustration of each teacher teaching their own funky methods, that lead to brain baffleness

If you are just starting ballroom go to ballroomguru . c o m
lots of good info to get started
The video is about the upper body concepts and the operator is filming the feet. Makes a lot of sense. And dancing standard with Latin shoes? Great choice. And his posture is poor to say the least (leaning backwards a lot and serious problems with the hold). But despite all that, that the heck is he teaching? What he refers to as a "swing" is actually a huge posture mistake every reasonable standard dancer tries to avoid by all means. And this guy is called an expert?
