Hey, that's Perth! On the big interwebs.
I wanted to get a wide converter for the Sony HDV. The lens is ~70mm, so they charge $500. You'd be better off buying a new lens. Waaay too much.

I've got a Peleng, but I bought it for shooting QTVR panoramas. Of course, as you've shown, it can certainly do more than that!

If it wasn't in 16:9, would there be any vignetting?

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to have to get me a Fisheye lens. I make videos of my songs so it'd be pretty cool to make one with this lens. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers! ~Mary Win~

My disks are full CD-R size and have the 15mm centre hole for standard CD drive hub.
I could not buy them already made, so bought in a batch of custom raw optical glass disks from Ohara in Japan, and finshed them myself, a very difficult task in the home workshop.
I have since been unable to get more from Ohara. I broke a few getting the process right.
There is another outfit in the UK which makes smaller finished disks in glass or plastic for Wayne Kinney's SGPro 35mm adaptor.

My use of the Peleng includes mounting it on a groundglass adaptor between it and video camera. There should not be vignetting if you shoot a standard 35mm motion picture film camera sized frame which is 24mm and no wider on the groundglass of the AGUS35 or whatever other groundglass relay imaging device you mount the lens to.
