Habiger speaks to KSPA (KSPA 2010)

Kathy HIll Habiger speaks to the Kansas Scholastic Press Association membership at KSPA's annual meeting, May 1, 2010, at the University of Kansas Union. Habiger is the adviser at Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, Kan.

Habiger in April had been presented the Jackie Engel Award, reserved for the state's adviser of the year, by the Kansas Associated Collegiate Press.

Here she speaks about Engel, the long-time adviser at McPherson High School and former KSPA executive director, and all her colleagues in journalism education.

While she spoke, Habiger's students competed in the KSPA State contest, where they won the state Class 5A sweepstakes trophy.
