(read description)

I learned the solo to Sleepless Again by In Flames. It's off their new album, A Sense of Purpose.

I recorded without a backing track, because I was using my laptop's microphone...That is also the reason why the quality isn't so great.

I don't use my pinky fingers, simply because I was born with bent pinkies, so I only use them mostly in chords and maybe on the odd lick or solo.

Criticism is more than welcome.

  • its better without background track becaues u can see what u really sound like and weather ur really good or not.

    good job lol.

  • Hehe good point! This is a really old video though..so the quality is bad..I finally experimented with methods of recording so I can get good quality..so if you liked it, please check out my other videos :)

  • negative colors is for cool people.....hmm i dont have any vids with negative colors

  • Nah, Line 6 amps already have all the effects in them, so I run through its distortion. However the tone is kinda weak because my Ibanez Iceman has stock pickups, and I'm recording through my laptop built-in mic. I have a Boss Mt-2, and I agree that you'd need at least 15-20 watts to run pedals well to improve the tone.

  • Yea i know you dont need a big amp, but my friend had one sounded badass, but i never payed attention does ur amp have built in distortion or you running through distortion pedal? i have a boss overdrive/distortion pedal, but the amp i have is so small doesnt effect shit.

Also how long have you been playing did you take any lessons? i watched a chromatic scale that's my music theory lol.

  • My amp is a Line 6 Spider II 30 Watt, so you don't need massive amps for good sound. Just get something that's like 15-30 Watts, and you're fine.

  • good job on the solo sounds perfect, glad you didnt use backing track most people try to hide their sloppy playing behind it ur's is clean.

i just started playing about 2 years ago but barly play it, i need to get a good amp like marshall halfstack lol.

  • I noticed that too, once I uploaded the video! Haha Video-lessons would actually be helpful in negative!

  • help you see fretting better.

  • Haha, thanks. It's the only video I have in negative colors, though :P
