http://kyegrace.com The bailout was voted down by the House this morning. As a Canadian in real estate I am disappointed. Even more so as a Canadian who enjoys seeing a prosperous Canadian economy with all benefiting I'm disapointed, kids getting to play hockey, families getting to holiday together each summer, affordable quality food, clothing and shelter...

The theory 'let them fail & learn their lesson' does not fly in my books. Problem is Canadians are going to suffer. The bailout gave the banks a chance to take a breath and try one more time to do things right while minimizing impact on the 'innocent'. It was not going to be an outright fix, at best the bailout was going to be a short pause during which they could cease bad practices and dig their way out of their demise. In Canada we are going to feel significant pain, but thank goodness the US Banks failed and MAY have learned their lesson. Canadians wanting US banks to fail is shortsighted spite that I do not understand.

  • The bail out would have only eased symptoms for about a month or two, then we would be facing the same problem once again except it would be far worse since it would be hyperinflation. The Federal Reserve will most likely end up cutting interest rates again.

Check out the SPP. It goes into effect by 2010. Say bye bye to Canadian sovereignty.

  • SPP is still just a plan, with a significant US decline in global standing and next to no leverage relating to economic influence remaining combined with a pending regime change, I will await an actual initiation of implementation of SPP before I get my knickers in a not. The same things were said about NAFTA, and yes it has had numerous flaws but as we see today Canada is the superior functioning country in North America. In fact on of our few blemishes is who we are neighbors with...

  • You will await an actual initiation of implementation of the SPP before you get your knickers in a knot? I guess you haven't heard of the NAFTA superhighway being built that links the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. All the SPP is is NAFTA on steroids, its an extension.

  • You said "I guess you haven't heard of the NAFTA".

This tells me you are not interested in having an actual conversation, rather you would just like to spew your pious rhetoric.

It is quite apparent you are not reading my replies but rather scanning them for agreement. When you do not find agreement you simply fire off another reply.

What am I talking about you ask? In my original reply I stated "The same things were said about NAFTA,"

I'll leave it to you to fight the good fight.

  • This is a good example of how dependent we are on the USA for our high standard of living. There are a lot of Canadians who hate on the USA, but they are ignorant. Whether we like it or not, if the USA fails, we fail.

  • Simple economics.

Design and produce a product that the consumer wants now and in the future. That's how Toyota and Honda do it and they are building new plants in North America while posting a profit. The big 3 dinasaurs failed the customer and if they sink, new companies with innovative ideas will emerge.

    It's that simple.

  • Alright...have fun in your bunker fearing the end of the world. Your energy may be better spent lobbying the decision makers as opposed to a Realtor in Vancouver, Canada. Really it is up to you though, I will support you unconditionally with either decision.

  • You picking and choosing and cutting up my sentences shows you are arrogant. Have fun with your ego.

  • The heck are you talking about? There wasn't a NAFTA superhighway when NAFTA was originally proposed. The NAFTA superhighway is the initiation of the SPP. I'm pointing out that the things people said was going to happen with NAFTA is beginning to happen.

Just look at the design of the NAFTA superhighway and how exactly it will be used. Look at how immigration is being handled. Look at the national ID cards being proposed for each country with all hooked up to each other's database.

  • No need to apologize. I am far less worried about Third World America than I am about Second World Canada. It appears from the comments here that the Americans who have spoken are focused only on themselves and their own issues. Funny that is what got America into this, individuals only worrying about their own bottom line. Greed, selfishness, and arrogance. This video was not intended to appeal to American citizens needs so although I appreciate the US feedback, it is 'off topic'.

  • Damn Canadians with your flapping little heads! This Bailout is bullshit.

I'm sorry you are scared of Third World America... But, deal with it. The Bailout would only harm the value of the dollar... which will hurt your currency and the entire world market.

The only way to fix the economy is to create more jobs.
