Even after an extension of unemployment benefits to 99 weeks, many of those about to go off the program are in a quandary. Scott Pelley talks to some of them in Silicon Valley.

  • Your tax money at work.

  • @Lobos222 A privately held company is under no obligation to give an employee a raise to match inflation. I also have no idea what inflation has to do with our disagreement. You're argument is purely about entitlement. You want something without having to earn it. I personally think thats completely selfish and destructive to humanity.

  • @psiewert83

Actually I am close to a social democrat than a liberal, but considering the educational level you are on I would figure you wouldnt even have a idea what that was and start screaming Communist like a crazy person.

Anyway, when you cant even understand the fact of inflation then I dont really think you should try to insinuate other people need more economical understanding than yourself.

  • @louielamson2000 Are you blaming the companies for making products overseas? If American Unions didn't hold companies over the coals for higher pay then those companies would be ABLE to manufacture in the United States. As an example. Apple recently released a statement about overseas production of the iPhone. If the iPhone were made 100% in the USA it would cost nearly $2500. No one would buy it then obviously. It's a smart business choice to manufacture overseas.

  • @Lobos222 Also my guess is that you're a liberal because you immediately resorted to racist attacks rather than debating me. Seriously think about what you're saying. "I DESERVE A RAISE EVEN WHEN I DONT EARN IT!!" In what world would that make sense? If you arent valuable to an employer then you don't deserve more pay. That's business 101. Respond to my comments after you've read an economics book or at least graduated 5th grade.

  • @Lobos222 I still think you're completely wrong. If you are working a dead end job then why don't you quit and get a better one. Thats what I did. Ended up with a 25% raise moving to a new company just last year. I was able to do that because instead of blowing my money on big screen tv's, vacations, and a house I cant afford, I educated myself. I made myself MORE valuable. If a company can get away with not giving raises and keeping pay low, then GOOD for them. Thats good business.

"People need to stop getting their hand held and make THEMSELVES successful."

You mean like working for the same pay over years so inflation goes past what they make and they actually lose buying power over time. Maybe you would like to "tear my comment apart", but you lack the abilities to do so because you are lacking facts.

Oh and dont forget to blame the Jews while you are at it btw. They probably run all the "evil" unions... dumbass.

  • I lost my job in Aug 2008 and did not find full time employment again until May 2010. Thankfully I fought for my unemployment benefits and was able to get temp jobs and by the grace of God did not fall behind in any bills. I wish the best to everybody out there who is looking for work.

  • How would i cite this if i use it as a reference for a paper?

  • Who got benefited for this? Obama for Banker 1%? Romney WALL ST Trade? Gingrich Freddie Mac! Who for American People 99%?

HOPE JOBS CREATIONS RETURN BACK TO U.S.A. SOON.

    RON PAUL FOR 2012!
