Drupal is not the future. Drupal is jack of all trades master of none,where userability is a foreign concept. It has lots of modules, which is good, but nearly every one f those modules has bugs, many of which don't get fixed for months (if at all).

Most programmers find it painful compared to a framework and it performs like a dog when you can't cache everything to death, despite Drupal's trumpet blowing the reality is most big websites about 98% of the top 10.000 don't use it.

not at all mate, Drupal is more flexible and way better for social networking type sites, it just takes a while to get ur head around the jargon
