Rails Chicago Series #13- Berwyn, IL (9-17-2011)

We return to Berwyn for a busy Saturday of action. All trains in this video were shot between 1-4pm CST at Lavergne crossing near 31st and Ridgeland:

1. METX 404 (MP36PH-3S)- Outbound commuter run speeds past Lavergne.

2. BNSF 7362 (ES44DC), 4432 & 5202 (C44-9W's)- A Portland-bound intermodal emerges from Cicero Yard and begins its journey west.

3. METX 105 (F40PH)- inbound dinky

4. BNSF 4313 (C44-9W) & CP 8829 (ES44AC)- light power movement heads in and back out of Cicero Yard.

5. METX 401 (MP36PH-3S)- outbound dinky blows past Lavergne

6. AMTK 46 & 162 (P42DC's)- westbound from Chicago Union Station

7. BNSF 6311 (ES44AC) & 8814 (SD70MAC)- eastbound coal drag bound for Detroit Edison.

8. CN 8925 (SD70M-2), 2677 (C44-9W) & BCOL 4649 (C44-9W)- Meanwhile up on the CN Freeport Sub, a manifest heads into Hawthorne Yard with the catch of the day third in the lashup.

9. BNSF 7885 (ES44DC), BNSF 5262 & 4112 (C44-9W's)- While the CN train rolls overhead, Z-CHCSSE (Chicago to South Seattle) departs Cicero Yard.

10. AMTK 11 & 95 (P42DC's)- eastbound heading to CUS.

11. METX 194 (F40PHM-2)- outbound dinky led by a Winnebago..

12. AMTK 184 & 92 (P42DC's)- westbound headed up by an Amtrak heritage unit.

13. AMTK 5 & 67 (P42DC's)- Yet another Amtrak blows past Lavergne.

14. METX 404 (MP36PH-3S)- seen earlier, this dinky makes its return run to CUS.

15. BNSF 8228 (SD75M) & 726 (C44-9W)- Led by two Warbonnets, I saw this train departing Clearing on my way to Berwyn. It snaked around Midway Airport on the BRC before cutting north and accessing the westbound BNSF just east of Cicero Yard.

16. BNSF 9781 & 9464 (SD70MAC's)- Two Executive Big MAC's lead a coal drag east into Chicago.

17. METX 105 (F40PH)- heading back out to the burbs.

18. BNSF 6373 & 6022 (ES44AC's)- Another eastbound coal drag, this time led by two GEVO's.

19. BNSF 4349 & 773 (C44-9W's)- A relatively short intermodal heads into the yard.

20. NS 9854 (C40-9W) & 8464 (C40-8W)- Another light power movement out of Cicero Yard, this time with two catfish.

20 movements in 3 hours! Not bad for a Saturday.
