@gussy2103 but who am I to judge when this world is is already messed up....thinking heavymetal is sad, thinking cutting yourself is the best way to solve problems and then saying that putting yourselves piercings and tatoos expresses your individuality, but it just makes you look like a complete fool. it's ok.....hate me for putting up a reasonable comment. Isn't this world ironic

@gussy2103 anathema is one of the best music band of all world, the sadness they can express is one of the most intense ever heard in music, they lyrics are like poetry... but this is not music for everyone, just for people who has sensibility to understand

Anathema is a great band, but doesn't make me drop any tear, nothing. It's not sad, dude. It's angry.

Anathema is great. Different songs by them may have been better though.

While I don't agree with this being the saddest, I find it funny that people start to whine about the first two; the vocals, as far as HARSH vocals go sound emotional as hell to me; people who whine about it probably aren't familiar with this vocal style. I for one love them and think there's a lot of despair to be heard in them.
Other songs that I find quite sad include Katatonia's ''Gateways of Bereavement'' and Virgin Steele's ''Child of Desolation'' Enjoy these!

I prefer those sad, lonely piano solos. THOSE make you cry.
...I'm sorry I can't be sad when someone is screaming at me. It doesn't make me sad. I mean it could make me angry or full of angst...but it's not sad.
