No doubt about, contraception is the 3rd rail in the Catholic Church these days. In this episode of The Vortex, we have an email to show just how deadly it can be to even bring up the topic.

@Shlomayo Humanae Vitae outlines the progression from artificial birth control; to cohabitiona without benefit of marriage; to abortion on demand; to same sex expression, etc. Catholic colleges in name only are, as one observer noted, more Calvinist in their thinking...Of course, that denomination sanctions "choice" as I was very gruffly informed after I made a simple observation about unborn life, while at that denomination's retreat facility, several years ago. This was in the Bible belt.

I have NEVER heard contraception mentioned by any priest in my church. I have family that believes it's not a sin and I'm sure it's because of the silence on the issue by the clergy. I am starting to wonder if the priests here disagree with the Church's teaching . . .

Thank God you're hitting a nerve, Mr. Voris. I'm calling for devout Catholics, who stand with you and understand the enormity of this issue, to ban together in an organized way to fight for truth. It seems like a David and Goliath issue, but we know who won that time, and with prayer we can take back the Church. Will you join with me in saying a daily rosary devoted to this issue alone, asking our Lady's intercession in stamping out contraceptive among Catholics and the world?

I have to admit in my 23 years of being a Catholic I've never heard a sermon on contraception. However, I think the issue of contraception is central to our idea of marriage and it's indissolubility. But in all honesty looking at the crisis now in the church, I think it could take 100 years for practicing catholics to look at contraception as an evil. Hand on heart it's only from realcatholictv I've personally seen how I had a distorted view of catholicism because heresy in the Church.

Until all Catholics start conforming to the Church and stop asking the Church to conform to themselves, your videos will continue being necessary.

What is your view of natural family planning & the Billings Method?
I sometimes hear contrasting views.
christianpatriot125 1 year ago
@christianpatriot125 Our view of EVERYTHING is the official view of the Church. If there is not an official view of the Church (if it is something where faithful Catholics can have a legitimate difference of opinion) then we have no position.
NFP, if legitimately used, is fine. It can be abused, but when used correctly it is fine. The Billings Method is a means of achieving this and so, if used for legitimate reasons, is fine.
